Look there!
They’ll take the food
from hungry youngsters’ mouths
to buy bombs to kill more children.
Goons! Fiends!

my love’s caught me whole

Mariposas retozando
tan ligeras, tan carmines
se me posan en la piel
y me hacen retoñar
el semillero de los nervios.
Me vuelvo un campo de flores aullando,
de las cuales se espesan de zumo,
tallo, hoja y pétalo, olor.
Peces nadando
tan ligeros, tan veloces
por el arrecife de mi cuerpo
escudriñan las querencias del placer
endonde está en acecho
el pícaro pulpo del amorío
con miríada de tentáculos líricos,
y ojos quemando las sombras.
Sobre mí aletean
tan ligeros, con tal intento
como ave persiguiendo una lombriz meneandose,
a traguitos devorándola
de madrugada veraniega.
¡Oh, labios tuyos!
¡Oh, el cielo de tu boca!
¡De júbilo me hacen sollozar!

(translation)
Butterflies frolicking
so lightly, so crimson
settle on my skin
and make sprout
the seedbed of my nerves.
I become a field of flowers howling,
from which ooze sap,
stem, leaf and petal, scent.
Fish swimming
so lightly, so quickly
on the reef of my body
search out the haunts of pleasure
in which is lurking
the rogue octopus of loving
with myriad lyrical tentacles
and eyes burning away the shadows.
Upon me they flutter
so lightly, so intently
like a bird chasing a wriggling worm,
devouring it bit by bit
in the summer dawn.
Oh, those lips of yours!
Oh, the heaven of your mouth!
They make me weep with joy!
