tanka – wintery thought

misshapen creatures
wind-wracked    set all in a row
evergreen bushes
hunched over    laden with snow
springtime seems so far away

  1. Dennis, trying to get caught up with blog reading and delighted to read these latest poems of yours! (I can relate to this one… waiting for spring once again….)

  2. Dennis? But thanks for visiting again, Betty.

  3. Oooops, I was thinking “Gregory” but “Dennis” came out my fingers. Sorry about that!!! (I had just been visiting another blogger with that name.)

  4. I thought it was probably something like that – seeing “Dennis”, I just got a bit confused myself, even thinking (crazily) that you were comparing me to the Irish poet Dennis O’Driscoll — but then I came back to earth; his poems are much much better than mine…

  5. 🙂 I don’t know, Gregory – I think your poetry is wonderful! (Just wish I could keep up with reading blogs a little better so as not to miss so many great ones here.)

  6. Thanks, Betty – I wish I could do more reading of blogs myself — but there’s a lot on my plate right now of a personal nature, and I just don’t know where the time goes. Thanks once more for your confidence.
