grizzled grammar

words are only puffs of air
full of nothing
or filled with ice, with fire.
but there is no way
really to take their measure.
in words I have no confidence
but I trust sighs,
hugs, eyes hidden
among dust storms of verbs.
light has more truth than sound
and touching has more than both.
