ambling after sunset

such dense clouds obscure
the night sky   I feel I walk
in some darkened church

love hovering

her passion: orchid
that stirs at my sound or touch
I: her hummingbird

Cuộc sống tuyệt vời này – This Wonderful Life (for Lan)

again
and yet again
my mind turns its fond eye
on you, my wife, my dearest friend
to dream

to mull
our past, this present, our future
to build ever stronger
this love of ours
always

autumn scene

colder weather… rain…
wind sticks dun leaves on the pane
love, let’s loll in bed…

in the garden, gazing at the night sky

cyclopean eye
gibbous moon peeping through leaves
just about to fall

for Lan

my window: aglow
with moonlight, as is my life
with your boundless love

Jubilee – for Lan

would I were a word master
to conjure from the air itself
images of beauty to frame
the very thought of you;
to spin from my wild senses
and my heart the fabric
of our fused endearment –
alas, I am but a poor apprentice
toiling in this smithy
over nouns and modifiers and verbs.
yet through my brain there sing,
over and over again, these lines:
I loved you from the first moment
I saw you. I love you still. I will love
you always, even when the words,
like our dreams, disperse into night.
