About

Welcome!  I’m Greg Driscoll, a retired civil servant, veteran of the conflict in Viet Nam, husband, father, and grandfather.  I live on Staten Island, the least populous of New York City’s five boroughs.  On my daily walks, I roam the north shore of this beloved island, which is “God’s country”, God being an absentee landlord…  I write poetry and short stories, and enjoy – much too much – my wife’s artistry with Viet Namese cuisine and other cooking.  When I’m not visiting friends and family, my other interests –  politics, history, international affairs, languages, cultures, and making wine – keep my days full and nights busy.

  1. Hi Greg! I nominated you for The Versatile Blogger Award. If you’re interested please accept this award, and if you are unable to for whatever reason, please accept the recognition and my sincere thanks.

  2. Thanks for the nomination but due to family circumstances that impinge severely on my time (allowing me to be online less than a half-hour a day), I cannot accept the honor in view of the conditions for accepting the award. But please accept my gratitude for considering my work worthy of this award and thanks for following my blog.

  3. Greg, I certainly understand other obligations and time constraints. I hope that everything is okay. I don’t believe there is a time limitation on accepting this award, so if you find some time available in the future it is here for you. I hope that others will discover your blog and enjoy it as much as I have. Thanks again, Greg!
