A blind serpent creeping ghostly
through burs and tendrils dewy,
cold sleek silent muscle
that slides steadily with unfazed purpose
through dark green tropic fire.
Or clear, chill water lying in quiet
hollows of dense stone, much as wine that broods
in dusty bottles. The crystal dampness
permeates the mind, the body with calm.
Put out the light, and sleep…
