the impossible dream

like hands, Spring leaves reach
for the moon haloed in mist:
unobtainable

in these times: night in America

framed by clouds  the moon
glides west  hushed  fair-minded  free
unlike the land below

moonset at sunrise

bright and brighter still
dawn   with light   fills the heavens
snuffing out the moon

muddled walk on an early Spring night

a hazy full moon
staggers through the naked trees
no—it’s I who’s drunk

stalking in winter

so like a cat’s eye
the waxing moon glares at clouds
skittering below

after snow

full moon near setting:
bright pearl about to vanish
below earth’s cold brim

gleaming in her eyes
such peace, happiness and love
