haiku: B717, JAN to ATL

clouds: masks for the sky
frighten, gladden all at once…
rain: tears of fear, joy

haiku: weather report

the half-moon soars high.
the rains have ceased their havoc.
the heart longs for home.

[for Lan]

[for Lan]

the small rain on my skin
reminds me of your kisses…
the deep night embraces me
as did you: totally…
the moonflowers on their trellis
are redolent of perfume
as when I’d nuzzle your silken hair
so many times so many years ago…
oh, my lovely one, I miss you so!

night storm

bushes: stooped shadows—
FLASH, as from a camera—
far off thunder, rain

autumn scene

colder weather… rain…
wind sticks dun leaves on the pane
love, let’s loll in bed…

turnabout

March   rain   driving wind
proverbial lion   lamb
but now both are threats

out of season, out of kilter

the stream runs swiftly
swelled by rains that should be snow
topsy-turvy world
